B.C. LORIO

Raices Del Sur represents the voices of the disenfranchised.  Two womyn, Rosa and Claudia, began as part of a larger collective dedicated to teaching local, sustainable community gardening to the Passaic, New Jersey immigrant community.

Over the course of the last year, their focus has broadened to advocate for their community to become a Sanctuary City, to provide education for citizens unfamiliar with their constitutional rights, and to fight injustice.  In addition, their community garden remains a source of community building through gardening and cultural enrichment.
